Travel Seasons

South Korea

Korea has four diverse seasons, with a rainy monsoon/summer in the middle of the year, and an incredibly cold winter from November through March. If you can, time your visit to South Korea for autumn in the months of September to November. This is when it is sunny, the skies are clear, and Korea's magnificent autumn foliage is a real draw. Winter is cold but dry, and a good time to visit if you like skiing, snow-draped temples, a dearth of tourists and below freezing weather. Spring in April and May can be gorgeous; except it is also the most common time with Japanese, tourists and you will have trouble getting even three star accommodations.
