Thailand's monsoon season arrives around July and last through November. This is followed by a cool, dry stage from November to mid-February, followed by much higher temperatures from March to June. By far the best time to visit is between November and February when the weather is excellent and the beaches are at their finest.
The peak season for Thailand is November to late March, with the next peak season in July and August. If you would rather avoid the crowds and take advantage of discounted rooms and lower rates, you should consider traveling during the least crowded months such as April to June, and September and October. This is also the prime time for diving in terms of visibility and accessibility.

You Should know:
Holidays falling on a Saturday or Sunday are observed on the Monday following by banks, but not by the Government. This includes the moveable holidays below. Apparently many offices also follow the same rule as banks.
The solilunar calendar in use is not completely understood. There is an intercalary 8th month every few years but how it is predicted is not known. It is therefore at present impossible to make projections. Most years, Vaisakh Buddha in Thailand falls 2 days before the Indian Buddha Purnima but in 1996, it fell a full lunar month later. This implies a different set of rules for observing or predicting the lunisolar New Year.
