Guyana is in a tropical climate zone. The humidity in the air is high all through the year with a normal daytime temperature of about 28° C. There are two rainy seasons in Guyana shortest is between November and January, the other is longer and is between the months of May and August, with stronger and long-lasting showers resulting in many of the dirt roads turning into mud baths. Only on the coastline and in the high ground are the temperatures are more tolerable. The best time to visit Guyana is between September and November, as there is no rain during these months.
